There's an old saying... build it and they'll come. But in the case of online courses, that just isn't true. And I've seen so many incredibly talented experts slaving away burning the midnight oil thinking that if they just create the "perfect" course -- then it will sell. 
They spend way too much time focusing on trying to get the slides just right... making sure they shoot a "professional" looking video... practising speaking on camera, or scraping it cause they don't like how they look or sound on camera... Or if they do finish it and feel great about what they've produced, they hit a wall when they realise they have no idea how to sell this thing. They tech feels overwhelming. They're not sales folk. And so their hard work ends up sitting on their hard drive collecting digital dust...
